Bryon was recognized by a family of a patient who had open heart surgery. The days following her surgery did not go as the patient and family had envisioned. By the end of the week, Bryon was the patient's nurse and he informed the family that she may not be going home. He made sure that each family member clearly understood what was going on and the patient's status was declining. As the family prepared for terminal extubation the patient was able to die with dignity and having Bryon at the bedside made an extremely difficult time a little easier. It was with the utmost sincerity that they thanked Bryon for his care.
