Patient P.G was admitted and stayed for 164 days. He was admitted from a serious house fire, after going into a burning building to rescue a neighbor. Over the course of his prolonged stay in the burn intensive care unit and the burn wound unit, the entire nursing team provided optimal care both to the patient and to his family. He often required a team of nurses to complete his complex wound care psycho-social needs and the needs of his family. The nursing team quickly and efficiently used new protocols for wound care to ensure his skin graphs and biologic agents were successful. In the end, in large part because of the nursing care he received, the patient was able to return to his home and family. The entire team truly went above and beyond to ensure a successful outcome.
Thank you for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
