June 2026 Honoree
C Patrick Lombardi, RN, NREMT-B, CFRN, CCRN, CEN
I want to recognize an experience that meant a great deal to me. I was involved in a domestic violence situation and was treated by C. Patrick Lombardi, also known as “C Pat,” a trauma Nurse. I had always respected him as a Nurse beforehand, but after that experience, I gained a genuine love and appreciation for who he is—not just professionally, but as a person.
I was incredibly embarrassed and ashamed of what had happened to me, and even more embarrassed having to arrive at my workplace under such painful circumstances. In that moment, I felt exposed and overwhelmed, but C Pat helped shift that for me. Through his words and the way he cared for me, he reminded me that life happens—and that it’s okay. He created a space where I didn’t feel judged or defined by that moment, but instead supported and understood as a person going through something difficult.
From the moment I arrived, he made sure I felt safe, comfortable, and cared for, explaining everything in a way I could handle during such a difficult time. He never judged me, not in that moment or afterward, and that meant more than I can put into words.
While I was getting stitches, I had a panic attack, and he held my hand and reassured me that I would be okay—that I would get through it. That level of compassion, patience, and humanity is something I will never forget.
Even after everything, he has continued to treat me with the same kindness and respect. His care went far beyond medical treatment—it was genuine, heartfelt support during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. I am truly grateful for him.
In real life, C Pat showed me that life is not all bad. There are still genuine, compassionate people who truly care, and he is one of them. Every day, C Pat shows up with a genuine smile and a steady presence that never goes unnoticed. No matter what he may be dealing with in his personal life, he never allows it to affect how he treats his patients or coworkers. He consistently carries himself with professionalism, patience, and kindness, creating a safe and respectful environment for everyone around him.
What stands out most is that he does not treat people based on their circumstances, attitudes, or situations—he treats everyone with the same level of care, dignity, and compassion. Even when faced with difficult patients or high-stress moments, he remains calm, understanding, and present. That kind of consistency and emotional strength is rare, and it speaks volumes about his character and the pride he takes in his work.
He has truly inspired me to be a better person in every aspect of my life. Through the way he carries himself, he’s shown me what it looks like to be committed—not just to a career, but to people, to purpose, and to doing the right thing even when it’s not easy. He’s made me reflect on how I treat others, how I show up in difficult moments, and how I choose to move forward in my own life. Because of him, I’ve felt more motivated to take my life and my dreams seriously, to move with intention, and to lead with kindness and understanding. His impact on me goes far beyond that one moment—it’s something that has genuinely shifted my mindset and the way I want to live my life every day.
