She is a hardworking nurse who continually goes above and beyond her primary responsibilities to improve patient care and support clinic operations.
Cady is one of the most consistent and thorough nurses I have ever worked with. She is a valued team member whom other nurses look to for guidance and support. She provides the safest care for every patient she comes in contact with, triaging them with detail and competence. She makes patients feel heard, supported, and cared for. Her documentation is always extremely detailed, making it easy for others to follow her, and her Mychart messages with patients are always a great resource for patients. She anticipates what information the patient may need in the future.
Patient Safety:
Cady has a way of meeting each patient where they are, making them feel safe and cared for. She is thorough in her triage and chart review, catching details that others may overlook.
Quality Outcomes:
Cady always uses evidence-based resources and information when providing advice and education to patients. She has an art of looking at the whole person when taking care of her patients, which optimizes health outcomes and the quality of their care.
Advocacy:
There is not a day that Cady is not advocating for her patients' needs. She is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to resources in the community and creative ways to help a patient with unique needs.
Respect:
The way Cady speaks to each and every patient exemplifies the respect she has for them, no matter their background or situation they are in. Patients always comment on how much they appreciate her kindness, care, and time spent with them.

Cady is an exceptional nurse! She is an integral member of our department. Cady came to OB/GYN from the WIC, which provided her with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She knew the ins and outs of the clinic and had a great basis for how to triage and care for patients. I have been lucky enough to work with Cady the entire time she has been with OB/GYN (we both came here at the same time).
Cady is an example of excellence in nursing. She provides great care by advocating for patients, providing thorough explanations of disease processes, a plan of care, and clear expectations for next steps. She is always willing to jump in and help with any situation and takes the time to explain her thought process behind things. This, in turn, has improved the knowledge and workflow of all nurses in the department.
Patient Safety:
Cady thoroughly follows protocols when caring for patients, and if she catches errors or gaps in protocols or processes, she brings them to attention. Clear communication with the provider, nurses, medical assistants, and PSRs about what the patient situation is, with safety as the top priority.
Quality Outcomes:
When Cady finds new information that other nurses may not be aware of (referral processes, lab orders, etc), she immediately updates the team and shares that info! This is really helpful for providing good patient care and preventing delays.
Advocacy:
Cady is a great patient advocate and resource. When she noticed a gap in information for behavioral health resources, she took charge and created a list of resources and options for patients.
Respect:
Cady has an excellent rapport with patients. She takes the time to get to know patients and really understand their concerns and works to find a solution. Patients will call and ask to speak with her specifically!

Cady consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication to both her patients and her team, embodying the compassion, initiative, and professionalism that the DAISY Award represents. She is a hardworking nurse who continually goes above and beyond her primary responsibilities to improve patient care and support clinic operations.
Patient Safety:
Possible ectopic pregnancies, an effort aimed at reducing errors and improving patient safety outcomes. She has also conducted detailed reviews of patient health histories to help identify appropriate billing codes for patients whose Pap smears were denied by insurance, ensuring patients receive accurate billing and improved access to care.
Quality Outcomes:
In addition to the above, Cady actively supports medication safety and availability by closely monitoring methotrexate inventory, ensuring vials remain adequately stocked, and even coordinating earlier refills during supply shortages. She is also quick to step in and assist with essential clinic tasks such as biohazard waste packaging and preparation when the designated medical assistant is unavailable, demonstrating her strong sense of teamwork and accountability.
Advocacy:
Cady is often the first to answer the hospital line, willingly takes on additional patients when the clinic is busy, and consistently supports her colleagues whenever help is needed. She has earned the trust and admiration of both her patients and peers through her reliability, compassion, and unwavering commitment to high-quality care. For these reasons, Cady is truly deserving of recognition through the DAISY Award.
Respect:
Cady exemplifies respect by consistently valuing the needs of her patients and colleagues, demonstrating compassion, accountability, and teamwork in every aspect of her work while always striving to improve safety, access to care, and the overall patient experience.

I am honored to nominate Cady for the DAISY Award for her unwavering dedication and truly exceptional, "above and beyond" care for our patients. Having worked with Cady for several years, I have witnessed firsthand that she is not only a highly skilled nurse but also an incredibly compassionate human being.
Cady is genuinely a great nurse who possesses the rare combination of compassion, skill, and dependability. She goes above and beyond, and she is truly deserving of this recognition.
Patient Safety:
Cady manages a challenging caseload of high-risk patients. She demonstrates remarkable diligence in keeping in contact with them, monitoring their progress, and ensuring they do not get lost in the system. Despite handling patients who are often very needy, Cady never talks bad about them. Instead, she puts in immense time and effort to ensure they are following the MD's instructions and truly understanding their care plans.
Quality Outcomes:
Cady is highly knowledgeable in the OB/GYN field and is constantly researching new ways to help her patients, showing a commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth. Beyond her patient care, she is an incredible teammate. Cady is consistently one of the first to offer help to her colleagues when needed, fostering a supportive environment.
Advocacy:
Cady consistently makes a significant, positive impact on her patients, particularly in delicate situations. I have heard her on the phone with patients who have just suffered a miscarriage; the care in her words, the patience in her voice, and the time she devotes to ensuring each patient is heard, comforted, and supported are truly impressive. She doesn't just treat the clinical condition; she cares for the emotional well-being of the patient.
