Cailynn Kotzke, RN

Cailynn was at triage when a young man came in suffering from a GSW to the groin. If she had hesitated, the young man’s outcome may have been different. Cailynn reached into the car; the young man said, “Help me.” Without hesitation, she grabbed him, even though he was saturated in blood, and placed him in a wheelchair. She ran him to the trauma, where they resuscitated him. Cailynn is the perfect example of an emergency room nurse who cares for their patient. I am proud to call her my colleague.
