During a recent stay at LewisGale in Salem, Cait was my night shift nurse on two nights. Her caring for me was truly outstanding and her sincerity exemplifies what a perfect nurse should be! Time and time again, she came to check on me, making me feel I was the only patient she had at the time, even though I am sure there were many more waiting for her to receive her professionalism and true concern. It's easy for some to say "she's just doing her job," but she goes well beyond that with her devotion of full attention to the patient. She made me forget about my pain from gall bladder surgery when she stopped to check on me, to feel she really does care about people. Our hospitals across the world need more individuals like Cait to make their stay as pleasant as mine was. She could definitely be the perfect role model for young and old to observe. I can't imagine another nurse being more deserving of The DAISY Award than Cait. I truly hope you accept my nomination for her, as I feel she needs to be recognized for her compassion and professionalism. She truly is an "extraordinary nurse" and in my stay at least, I definitely experienced "A Healer's Touch!" Thanks to all.
