Caitlin has been caring for my mother. In every interaction, Caitlin goes above and beyond to ensure that my mother feels not only medically supported but emotionally cared for. Caitlin’s ability to establish genuine connection with her patients and their families is truly remarkable. She consistently exhibits patience, kindness, and empathy, creating a positive and comforting environment for those she cares for. Caitlin is not only proficient in her role as a RN but also is an effective communicator. She always takes the time to explain information in a clear an understandable manner, alleviating our anxieties and ensuring we understand information being provided. My mother came into the hospital with severe back pain which turned into a stage 4 Cancer diagnosis. Caitlin was attentive to my mother’s pain medication regimen always ensuring that she was keeping her as comfortable as possible by repositioning her several times within her shift. We saw Caitlin work under high stress and workload but always felt like we were her only patient and family she was caring for. We watched her train students with patience and willingness to explain the “why” behind an action. This is reassuring that the next generation of nurses will have Caitlin’s exceptional care foundation to work with. I wholeheartedly believe Caitlin’s exceptional contributions to patient care make her more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
