Caitlin spent in excess of an hour and a half using her phone for the family to communicate with their loved one and say goodbye.
Caitlin was working as a charge nurse on a specific day and graciously went into the room of a patient to FaceTime with her personal phone, as we did not have time to set up a different technological means of video visiting for the spouse of a dying patient. Caitlin spent in excess of an hour and a half using her phone for the family to communicate with their loved one and say goodbye prior to his death. Her approach and attitude of caring were going the extra mile in this case.
In addition, several days later, she again went the extra mile. She met with the family of a young COVID positive patient. When the family came to the hospital to pray for their loved one, she met with this family in the courtyard outside of the B. Bldg. to update them on how sick the patient was. She displayed her deep sense of compassion for the patient and his loved ones.
