We are very fortunate to have Caitlin as she is a very dependable, respectful, committed resource to us and the rest of the hospital.
I have known Caitlin Roberge for many years. I worked with her as a bedside nurse, and I worked with her when she was a clinical manager on 4E. I have always admired her matter-of-fact manner and wise, practical judgment. She has always been extremely reliable. You can always count on her, and she always seems to know what to do. She is a nurse who tends to fly under the radar but really has been an integral part of the Southern community. She is now a highly respected and skilled IV resource specialist. I have heard many different coworkers express their praises for her. I have heard things recently like "Thank goodness Caitlin is on today" and "Caitlin deserves to be recognized for this." My coworkers have commented on how easy she is to work with. She has been a breath of fresh air and a highly valued addition to our IV therapy team.
Caitlin is a very responsive, supportive, highly professional IV therapist. It is hard to think of only one example or story. She has gone above and beyond for many of our ICU patients. There have been days when she is the only IV therapist on, and she works her magic, somehow getting a PICC or midline in the most complicated patients. I have seen her talk with our providers, helping them make decisions on the best management for some patients with really difficult vascular situations.
Recently, she placed a PICC on a patient by herself while her nursing student helped to hold the patient's contracted arm up. She was seen placing the PICC in a very complicated position, which almost seemed impossible to complete. It was one of those PICCS where you could tell just by looking at it that it was placed in a unique, creative manner. There was another evening when we were very busy, and Caitlin stayed over an hour late to help us. We are very fortunate to have Caitlin as she is a very dependable, respectful, committed resource to us and the rest of the hospital.
