caitlin rudge, BSN, RN

Caitlin is a staff nurse on 11N who on a daily basis goes out of her way to help patients and staff. She always offers to help others. She is everyone's "go to" person with difficult lab draws and IVs.? She frequently works extra to help with staffing on the unit and also changes her schedule to help fill in holes. Patients will ask for Caitlin by name. She is very caring to patient and families.
We recently had a patient from another state who had her 2 young children and her mother with her. Caitlin took the patient's mother and children to the cafeteria that Saturday evening and bought them food for the weekend, then Caitlin went shopping with her mother and bought them more food, diapers and other things to make them more comfortable for their stay in Pittsburgh.
Caitlin is an excellent nurse clinically and is very compassionate and caring and works hard so that her patients have a good hospital experience.
