LT Burger demonstrated compassionate care while I was his patient on 7N. I am someone who is fiercely opposed to CPR and intubation. As a young mother who has a long list of complex medical issues, my choice to remain DNR is personal and comes from a place of educated understanding. During my stay on 7N, I was approached by many nurses who were concerned about my choice to remain a DNR. Caleb was the only nurse who took a patient-centered approach and showed compassion for my choice and did not make a judgment or offer displeasure in my personal choice. Thank you, Caleb.
