Caleb is active in the Army Reserves and had served in Iraq. When he returned home, he learned of a World War II veteran that was in hospice care. Caleb felt that for Veterans Day the man should be honored with something more than a flag pin, so he researched where the man was stationed during his time in the war, and specifics about his unit.
Caleb made a shadow box filled with tokens to honor the patient and delivered it to the man on Veterans day. The patient, who was on his deathbed, stood and saluted Caleb, and regaled him and his family with stories from his time serving in the Army. Caleb knew at this moment that he wanted a career with a higher calling, one that serves people much like he did in the Army Reserves...and so Caleb became an RN.

Thank you, Caleb, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
