Highland Women's Care is a fantastic team, and I feel so reassured to be in their care. Callie has particularly stood out with compassionate care in my pregnancy to date. She has been my constant through this (and prior pregnancies). I recently experienced a scary complication with a placental abruption over a weekend, and, after consulting with the on-call Monroe OB, messaged Callie during her off-time for a second opinion. Despite being plenty busy with her own four young children at home, she provided immediate reassurance and counsel, which was the push I needed to face the ER during COVID by myself. That Monday, she met me and my husband in the Highland clinic waiting room first thing without an appointment and didn't even make us talk to the receptionist during an emotional time before leading us back to see the doctor. Callie kept me calm and promised we would get to the bottom of this. She was right—the ultrasound revealed the cause of the fluid loss and bleeding and gave us some much-needed answers. Additionally, I'm hearing impaired which makes navigating COVID and the mask requirement tougher than usual. Callie is the first to chase down doctors and staff to remind them to speak up so I can clearly understand what they're conveying. She often proactively anticipates needs before I even have to ask. We are so incredibly grateful for her, and she is a major reason that we continue to grow our family with the support of Highland Women's Care.
