My newborn baby, just 6 hours after being born, was admitted to the NICU due to a heart issue detected after birth. We went on a roller coaster of emotions, this being our first baby, and wanting nothing more for our baby to be healthy and to take him home. Cameron helped us feel a sense of normalcy in the NICU. Despite the baby being hooked up to so many cords and machines, Cameron involved us in every aspect of the baby’s care, including his first bath, dressing him in his first outfit, and even a special little man beanie. She did the simple things without us even asking, like taking our first family picture, something I am eternally grateful for. She made sure the baby had all his needs taken care of and beyond, and when I had to leave for the night, I knew she was such a skilled nurse, I had zero worries leaving. Cameron made the NICU feel like home as much as possible, and I will never forget her care for our son.
