He demonstrated what all families want to see in their family's caregiver; compassion, confidence, dignity for the patient, recognizing the patient's need to be part of the care, actions, and decisions.
I was just impressed with his care and compassion for my father. I have been a nurse (Psychiatric and Mental Health) for over 40 years. My sister has been a nurse for a little longer (Medical and Children's). We both felt he stood out in the care of our father, his patient. He demonstrated compassion and patience with him. Addressed him by his name during his cares. My Dad had a stroke, and we were very lucky he was attended to early. I drove to North Dakota from Idaho, expecting to attend a funeral, instead, I attended his 94th birthday party at the PAM Rehab facility. We want to recognize Cam, as he demonstrated what all families want to see in their family's caregiver; compassion, confidence, dignity for the patient, recognizing the patient's need to be part of the care, actions, and decisions. Later that week, I meet some Concordia graduates who knew who Cam was, they complimented him, indicating he was one of the top students to come out of Concordia. In the short time, I interacted with him, I believe it. Keep it up Cam, the sky is the limit. You are the type of Nurse I want to hand over the torch to. Thank you.
