The care and compassion Camila showed me were unbelievable.
I was a patient at your hospital for a week. I was concerned with my health issues and feeling sad and lonely as I did not want my children to come to visit me due to the virus. All the nurses were very nice but in particular Camila. The care and compassion she showed me were unbelievable. She made sure I had my meds on time, took time to come to my room as time allowed, just to say hi, how are you doing, and to let me know she was busy but if I needed anything to let her know. Camila is very professional, caring, compassionate and made me feel like I was a friend. Because of her, I changed my opinion of Hackensack Hospital. See, I was a patient here many years ago for 19 days with blood clots and the care I received was so poor that I asked to talk to the Director and I promised myself I will never go back there. I had no choice this time. If all the nurses were like Camila, patients would be comforted and the hospital stay would be easier to deal with. I was blessed to have her as my nurse twice. At the end of her shift, she came to my room to let me know she was not coming back until the following week and she hoped that when she came back she did not see me there, not because she did not want to see me but because she wanted to know I was well. Then she added "you are the kind of patient that keeps us going" I started crying. You see, my daughter is a charge nurse in the emergency room at another hospital and she always says that no one knows the amount of work and pressure nurses are under and that patients should treat them with respect and that is what I did and only called them when my IV was done. You have a gem in Camila.
