I'm one of the ED nurses and had a 15-month-old burn today. He needed his burns dressed and since I don't see as many burns as the burn unit, I called up to the burn unit to see if they had any extra supplies or helpful tips.
Camille was the first person to answer the phone. She was happy to give me advice on how to best dress it. As she was explaining how to cut the netting I was slightly confused. She offered to come down and help show me how to do it. I was completely shocked at her willingness to help. She was down in the ED within a few minutes with supplies and a smile. She was busy and was unfortunately unable to help with the patient but was able to show me how to cut the dressings. Again I am so appreciative and surprised at her willingness to help genuine compassion to do what's right for patients.
Clearly, if she is this compassionate with fellow staff members on different units, I imagine she is fantastic to work with and provides amazing care to patients! If everyone in healthcare was this caring and helpful patients would be receiving such great care!
