August 2023 Honoree
Camillia Hardnett, RN
Camillia deserves this award because of her exceptional nursing skills and she is an amazing woman. She cared for me during the amputation of my leg. She was the last face I remember seeing when they took me for surgery and the first face I remember seeing when I woke up. She cared for me as if I was a lifelong friend. She never left my side until they moved me to ICU. She was supportive, compassionate, and affectionate, interacted with my family, and addressed their concerns and cares. She went out of her way to make them confident I would be safe and free from harm. She held me when I cried because I was scared. When they transferred me from the ICU back to 4 Center, she made a point to come to my room, hug me, and ask me how I was feeling. She showed genuine concern for me as a person. She is by far the most compassionate, loving, nurturing nurse I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. In all my 55 years of life, I have encountered a nurse who treated me like I mattered and wasn't just another patient.
Thank you, Camillia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
