My daughter Ms. C who lives in Hawaii got diagnosed with a choledochal cyst, requiring a critical surgery. It was arranged for her to come to San Antonio for specialized surgery. The condition she has is rare and 1 in 200,000 people get it. Everyone in the hospital treated us well but Candace stood out. She was Ms. C's nurse for 3 dayshifts and always came in with a smile on her face. She is an exceptional nurse and is not only kind and caring but compassionate to our entire family as a whole.
If Candace came in the room 15 times a day, each and every time she left, she asked if Ms. C or her family needed anything. Candace is a very knowledgeable nurse; she could converse with the doctors knowing exactly what was going on with her case and provide important information to the doctors. Candace did everything she could to help manage Ms. C's pain. She included us in the plan and made us feel comfortable. I can't say enough about Candace and her care. Being an RN myself, and I know some days are more difficult, Candace never portrayed that. Candace is a true professional and a valuable asset to your team.
