Professor McGowen is nominated for her creativity, excellence in teaching, quality relationships with learners, and collaborative relationships.  Using her expertise in multimedia technologies, she brings pathophysiology to life and stimulates the student interest in learning.  Her use of 3-dimensional videos, simulations, and mapping of content are helping students develop the knowledge base that will enhance their learning as they progress through the curriculum.  Professor McGowen helps advance nursing through her involvement in Sigma Theta Tau, Tennessee Nurse's Association, and American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  She is always available to provide support to faculty and students.
