Candace listened to me and saw me as a person, a mom, a woman who needed to be understood in a moment of pain and discomfort.
Candace exemplifies the kind of nurse that the patients and families, as well as the Nurses, Physicians, and other members of the Interdisciplinary team, recognize as an outstanding role model. The following is an example of her patient care, highlighting the care and compassion she provides every day.

"I was cared for by Nurse Candace for the birth of my second child, and I have nothing but amazing memories of this childbirth experience thanks to Candace. Not only was she friendly and professional, but she was also exceptionally good at making my family and me feel safe and, in some way, loved as if we had met years ago.

Candace listened to me and saw me as a person, a mom, a woman who needed to be understood in a moment of pain and discomfort. Her warmth and openness allowed me to have an open communication with her which led to a fantastic experience that will live forever in our minds and hearts."

Candace came to the CBC with 20 years of experience in another local hospital. Having Candace on our team is like receiving a gift that you get to enjoy day after day. She has a warm heart and a generous spirit and is so giving of herself to everyone she encounters. Our patients are in excellent hands in her care, both because of her clinical expertise, but also for her patient advocacy and compassion. She is often assigned to our most socially complex families, and she always provides care without judgment.

It is an honor to have Candace as a staff nurse in the CBC.
