Candice was our NICU nurse for the first few days while my daughter Q was admitted due to breathing issues (and being slightly pre-term and little). Early on while caring for Q, Candice noticed some irregularities and struggles to breathe, coupled with log spO2 levels. Rather than simply providing care and maintaining Q's condition, Candice went above and beyond and requested the doctor order chest x-rays. These x-rays revealed a pneumothorax, which altered the direction of care going forward.

Over the course of the next few days, Candice did an outstanding job not only caring for Q but also helping my wife take care of the baby. Candice did an exceptional job of explaining to us what she was doing and why, and teaching us how to provide care for Q even while in the NICU. By the time her schedule rotation ended, she had left my wife and me feeling comfortable taking care of our baby inside the NICU and also feeling well informed about Q's condition and action plan moving forward.
