One night we heard an overhead page for a pediatric code blue. Even though it wasn't required for Candice to respond to the E.D. call for assistance, she went there to help out as much as she could.
Candice spent most of her shift in the E.D helping to care for a critically injured toddler. Although her expertise is as a Neonatal Nurse she remained with the child with the E.D. Team offering assistance, helping with IV placements and vital signs.
It's not unusual for Candice to go above and beyond her "Job Requirements", but on this night she displayed the type of spirit of INTER DEPARTMENT collaboration that exemplifies KAISER Permanente Ontario.
