When facing a life-threatening illness, a nurse who shows you compassion, understanding care, and concern while patiently explaining exactly what is happening, what procedure or medicine is being administered and why is very much appreciated. Throughout her time of caring for me, Candice chatted about family, my home, my little dog, fishing, etc. She seemed to take time to help me feel better. I was very glad to have the distraction from the monotony of every day lying in bed. She was always smiling and visiting like she cared and I believe it was heartfelt.
