Candice had a very busy assignment with two sick babies on Saturday. She was running back and forth taking care of both kids. Despite being busy, she provided excellent care to those children. She had to take one down for MRI at the end of her shift. The MRI tech had concerns about a surgical clip, and there was a delay of about 30 minutes. I went down to bring the MRI tech the proof of the surgical clip being MRI-compatible. When I got there, Candice was rocking the baby while waiting, snuggling him. She gave him TLC while they waited and was so patient and loving to this baby. The next day, he needed a bath. She washed his hair with warm soapy water and he LOVED it. His mom is unable to visit frequently due to transportation, and Candice cared for him so lovingly this weekend. We are lucky to have her as a nurse in our unit!

PS, This same weekend, she went out of her way to the Peds floor to put an IV in, despite being busy with her own patients, for a difficult stick who needed sedation for a procedure and hence an IV. She really goes out of her way to provide exemplary care for her patients.
