She has no idea that she has filled all of the spots. I figure it's because a lot of angels do not realize all the amazing things they do.
Over a week ago, when I was admitted into the hospital, I never dreamed I was about to hear a sentence I had been dreading for a few years.
That time came last Saturday when I was told it was time to go on Hospice. Immediately, I began experiencing all ranges of emotions. It was my lucky day because I had Candice as my nurse that day, and although at that time we didn't know one another, you would not have ever known that. She instantaneously jumped into calming my heart and soul down. She literally knew what to say and when to laugh, like she had known me for years and also loved me like she had known me for years.
I didn't want her shift to end and counted down the hours until she would be clocking in next. Every question I had (and there were a lot) she answered, and if she didn't know an answer, she found out so I would know my options. I have experienced so much fear for the upcoming days and weeks, and she has sat and talked with me and listened to me and, in doing so, has taken so much of that fear away.
Yes, she has been my nurse, a shining star, and a best friend when they could not be there for me. She has been a sister, being silly and joking around with me. We have had some of the greatest belly laughs. She has also been family and friends showering me with love and kindness until they can get here. She has no idea that she has filled all of the spots. I figure it's because a lot of angels do not realize all the amazing things they do.
I never knew how my first week in Hospice Care would go, but one thing is for sure... God most certainly knew I needed His best angel nurse, and because of her, I know that I will be okay.
Thank you, Candice.
