It was a very busy day on the floor, Candice had been floated from her home unit and was serving as break relief. There were many call lights and just a busy day with a lot to do. All of the nurses and other staff were in rooms with patients, no matter how many times I asked Candice for help, she willingly agreed. She was very busy herself, but every time she went into a patient's room, she greeted them warmly, stated she was happy to help them and met their need(s). She fixed pumps, alarms, transferred patients to beds, put patients on bedpans and did it all with loving kindness. Not one patient knew how busy she was as she entered each room with calmness and a warm greeting. Candice embodies the DAISY vision.
