I cannot express how impressed I was by Cara's poise and professionalism in dealing with a very difficult patient!
Cara kept calm and collected and continued treating her as if she was any other patient that needed care. Cara quickly identified the patient's "triggers" and made it a point to minimize events that could set her off. She kept the patient abreast of her pain medication schedule. She remained attentive to this patient's many calls to the nursing station so that the patient would feel heard and not ignored. It was truly remarkable to see how well Cara was able to carry out her job amidst all of the chaos. And she did this while also remaining attentive to her other patients' needs! I hope that she can be recognized for her level of excellence and professionalism.
