Cara Neumann provided incredible care to my 9-year-old daughter during her stay for septic shock. It was an extremely emotional and stressful experience for our entire family, especially because initially the cause of her illness was unknown and the treatment plan was not completely straightforward. Not only did Cara demonstrate expert nursing skills, but she also went above and beyond to explain procedures and medications in ways that my daughter could easily understand. This helped to ease her fears and made her feel more in control of her situation, so much so that she did not shed one tear. Cara did not just stop at medical care; she connected with my daughter on a personal level. In just a few short days, she got to know my daughter, learning about her family, hobbies, and interests. She even shared some of her own family's favorite movies, giving my daughter something enjoyable to watch to help distract her from the challenges of being in the hospital. Cara's kindness and high-quality care extended to our entire family as well. She made sure that we were informed and comforted during this difficult time, and her empathetic approach was a true blessing. Cara is not only a remarkable nurse but also a remarkable person. Her knowledge, dedication, compassion, and ability to connect with people make her an invaluable part of the ICU team. My daughter, my family, and every patient she cares for are truly fortunate to have her as their nurse.
