I am nominating Cara Keevey for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion, strength, and care she provided to my sister-in-law and our entire family during one of the most devastating moments of our lives-the labor and delivery of her stillborn baby. From the moment she entered the room, Cara brought a quiet strength and empathy that went far beyond her professional duties. She cared for my sister-in-law not only as a patient but as a grieving mother experiencing unimaginable loss. She spoke gently, explaining every step with respect and sensitivity, ensuring that my sister-in-law felt supported and never alone. Cara also cared for our entire family. She recognized our pain, offering words of comfort, water, and simply her presence when there were no words to say. Her compassion helped create a sacred space of peace and dignity in a time filled with heartbreak. She helped us honor the baby’s short but precious life, reminding us that love and loss can exist together.
