Caralyn has a gift of understanding, listening, and encouraging. That meant more than she will ever know. I did share with her my regret for choices in my life and never one time did she judge me.
Caralyn was a Godsend. I have had times in my life that have been hard for me with physical/health issues and being disabled. I have not seen my children in 6 years and I have a granddaughter I have never met. However, meeting Caralyn was a light in a dark place. Due to my battle with alcohol, I have caused most of the problems in my life. When I was talking to her, she truly listened. I am not one to dump on people, she has a gift of understanding, listening, and encouraging. That meant more than she will ever know. I did share with her my regret for choices in my life and never one time did she judge me. Upon saying that, NO ONE has ever treated me better. I live in an ALF and they frown on drinking. A number of times, I have broken the rules and they have given me many chances, however, this time may be my last. Upon sharing my regret and fear of being evicted, she went to bat for me with the ALF, somehow things clicked through phone calls and they said that I could stay. I feel God created all nurses, and Caralyn is his prototype. If I had more room to write I could tell more of her ability to make a person facing possible homelessness and shame, feel important. Thank You.
