Caran Sallutan, RN
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding care that Caran is currently providing for my son and our family at Sentara Leigh.
Before sharing my appreciation for Caran, I want to recognize that every nurse we have encountered at Sentara Leigh has been wonderful. Throughout our time here, we have consistently experienced kindness, professionalism, compassion, and dedication from the nursing staff. Each nurse has played an important role in caring for my son and supporting our family, and we are deeply grateful for the excellent care we continue to receive.
However, Caran has distinguished herself in a truly remarkable way. While working as part of an outstanding team, she has gone far above and beyond in her advocacy, attentiveness, and commitment to our family’s needs, and I felt it was important to ensure that her exceptional efforts are recognized.
Caran is knowledgeable, competent, calm, friendly, and incredibly understanding. She consistently goes far above and beyond anything we could have expected. During long, busy shifts, she makes sure my son and our family have everything we need. Her dedication, compassion, and professionalism are making an incredibly difficult situation much easier to navigate.
As the parent of a special needs child, I am unfortunately aware that parents of special needs children do not always receive the same level of attention and care as others. Caran has made sure that my son is treated like a VIP. She takes the time to listen, advocate for us, and ensures that our concerns are heard and addressed. She makes us feel valued, respected, and cared for every step of the way.
Most importantly, during moments when we have felt overwhelmed and begun to lose hope, Caran has stepped in and helped move things forward. Through her advocacy and determination, she has given us hope when we needed it most. That has meant everything to our family. Caran’s ability to remain calm under pressure while providing outstanding care is truly remarkable. She combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion in a way that is both rare and priceless. When families are facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives, having someone like Caran by their side is an incredible gift.
I cannot say enough good things about her. She is an outstanding nurse, a fierce advocate for her patients, and a wonderful human being. Caran is truly an angel sent from heaven, and we will never forget the difference she is making for our family. Healthcare professionals like her are invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for the care, kindness, and support she continues to show us.
Please extend our heartfelt thanks and recognition to Caran for the extraordinary care she is providing. She exemplifies the very best of the nursing profession and is a tremendous asset to Sentara Leigh. We are profoundly grateful not only for Caran, but for the entire nursing team whose compassion and dedication have helped carry our family through this very challenging time.
