Dear Healthcare Workers,

We are here today to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care and dedication you provided to my brother during his recent medical emergency. Your expertise, compassion, and tireless efforts saved his life, and for that, our family will be forever grateful.

From the moment my brother was admitted to the hospital, we were astounded by the level of care and professionalism displayed by each and every one of you. Your commitment to providing the best possible medical treatment was evident in every interaction we had with you. You not only treated his physical ailments but also provided emotional support and comfort during a difficult time for our family.

I have stood in your shoes before, but never from the outside looking in. I was in extreme shock at the moment; however, I witnessed extraordinary teamwork and a code that was run flawlessly between everyone on the team.  There was passion in your care that I will never forget.

His code lasted 40 minutes with 10 rounds of defibrillation. At one point, dual sequential defibrillation was initiated. I was brought over to the doorway for time of death to be called when I heard someone say let’s try one more time. His heart rate came back. He was rushed to cath lab and shocked 10 more times. A stent was placed, and he went to ICU. They told us he would not survive. Then they told us he was in multi-system organ failure. Then they told us if he survived, we don’t know what his long-term deficits would be. His kidneys would never recover. In my reality, I knew. I knew there was no chance of him surviving this and returning to his prior life.

Your knowledge, skill, and quick decision-making undoubtedly saved my brother's life. The countless hours you spent monitoring his condition, administering medications, and performing life-saving procedures are a testament to your dedication as healthcare professionals. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of his care.

Beyond the technical aspects, it was your kindness and empathy that truly made a difference. Your reassuring words, gentle touch, and genuine concern provided comfort to both my brother and our entire family. Your ability to create a healing environment amidst the chaos is a testament to your extraordinary abilities as healthcare providers.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the support staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. From the nurses who ensured my brother's comfort and well-being to the administrative staff who coordinated his care, each and every member of your team played a vital role in his recovery.

Words cannot fully convey the depth of our appreciation for everything you have done. You are true heroes, selflessly dedicating your lives to the well-being of others. Your unwavering commitment to your profession and the exceptional care you provide are an inspiration to us all.

As my brother continues his journey towards recovery, we will forever be grateful for the role you played in saving his life. Today, he has no permanent deficits. He has regained normal kidney function with a creatinine of 1. His echo shows no evidence of the heart attack that he endured.  He has a better memory than I do after all of this. He is driving and is now back to work.

Your dedication, expertise, and compassion have made a profound impact on our lives, and we will never forget the extraordinary care you provided.
