July 2026 Honoree
Carey Terrell, BSN, RN, NRP
Carey was the best nurse I’ve ever had regarding anything medical. She was so funny and super sweet! I was sad because my son was home and I wanted to get home to him. We were unexpectedly sent to Labor and Delivery due to preeclampsia, so everything was rushed and unexpected. She was naturally funny and was able to make me laugh through tears.
My doctor was holding me longer than expected because of elevated blood pressure, and I was frustrated. Honestly, just because I wanted to get home to my other baby. Carey brought me stuff to color to help distract me. She gave me a hand massage to help me relax and lower my blood pressure. She held me and walked me to the café so I could get up and feel human and get some food.
She constantly asked me if I was okay and comfortable. She sat and told me stories to help distract my mind. Her shift was about to end, and she asked me if I would like her to stay later to ensure I would get to go home.
I just can’t say enough good things about her. I will never forget her as long as I live!
