Cari has been a leader in building all of the guidelines and processes to run our transplant lab. She works diligently to provide "service with a smile". Despite sometimes doing the work of three people, she greets all the patients with a smile and demonstrates professionalism in her practice.
Having had the opportunity to cover for Cari recently when she was out, I got to see firsthand how much her patients value her. They sent well wishes for her speedy recovery and greeted her with hugs when she returned. I even experienced patients who wanted to reschedule their infusions just to be seen by her. The connections she makes with her patients are evident and something we can all aspire to.
Our days can be quite hectic and mid-day is often the busiest part of the day, which can, unfortunately, lead to skipping lunch breaks. One day last week Cari was working so hard that she became physically overwhelmed and we had to call the rapid response team to evaluate her. She really loves her patients and she wants to do everything she can for them. Her commitment to her patients is unyielding. She is a DAISY Nurse through and through.
