A patient Cari was caring for unexpectedly passed away close to shift change to day shift. The patient's two sons were understandably shaken and upset. Cari stayed past her shift so she could personally speak to her sons about their mother's last moments. Cari was able to put both of their minds at ease by saying she was with her the entire time and that their mother passed peacefully. Cari was able to provide the family endless comfort during one of the most stressful times in life. Her compassionate care was able to ease the burden of a parent passing.
