Carina is amazing; she treated my mom as if she were her own mother, always with a smile and sweet words, from giving meds to helping her to bedside potty, cleaning her up, changing bandages, changing the bed from her wound leaking, getting a snack, and peeking in just to check. She notices her hair placement, a need for supplies in the room, her oxygen slipping out, and trying to set up the IV antibiotics without disturbing her. On and on, I can only say how great she is!

My mom needed to have extra help being wiped, and she just did it with a smile, no funny faces like some do, which can make the family feel sad about letting her ask for help. Carina is surely one who enjoys taking care of people, and on night shift, seeing her smiling face even while hearing other patients screaming from what seemed to us to be sundowners or dementia. Mom is having a hard time and has no real answers, but Carina gives her peace, and she looks forward to seeing her. My mother said I should get her some kind of prize, so here I am, thinking Carina should get three (at least) prizes just for her care while we were here.
