Carine shows compassion and respect every time she performs care for her patients. With her gentle hands and voice, she calls her patients by their names and helps reorient them. She pays excellent attention to infection control (hand washing), she is attentive to ECMO sites, 13 IV drips, pedal pulses, and turning the patient every 2 hours. She patiently responds to our questions and concerns regarding the ventilator, pain meds, and ECMO. 100% of her time is dedicated to the patient, and she openly encourages the patient to feel safe and have no fear. She is amazing!

Carine displayed compassion, respect, knowledge, excellence, and willingness to share information about my fiancé’s condition and treatment. She was clear, informative, and also educational with her explanations. She stewarded his care well and was compassionate with my fears and concerns. She thought of his modesty/preferences to not be in only a towel when several visitors came, and my fiance was down to basically just cooling pads. She covered him with a light sheet even though he was heavily sedated and would have no idea. She made several intolerable days more tolerable and put us at ease by ensuring that he was in the best care possible. A great soul.
