My daughter Marley Stevens was in PICU for 8 days with H1N1, and had the honor of having Carissa be her nurse. She truly touched my daughter’s heart by taking such good care of her. She made it fun to take her meds. She explained everything she was going to do to her before she did it and was very honest if something was going to hurt. She knew exactly what my daughter needed and took amazing care of her. My daughter found a friend in her. Also, she let Marley color her hair. She talked to her and listened when Marley had something to say. She deserves to be recognized for seeing Marley as a person, not just another patient.
