I'm in the hospital due to COVID and while my best friend passed away, it hit me so hard, and I did not want to deal with or speak to anyone. I cannot remember what the question was, but I started speaking with Carla. We spoke of her struggles and life hacks she had gone through to become a nurse later in life. She touched my heart and helped me without even knowing it. Her words encouraged me to move on with the passing of my friend. After speaking with her, I knew I needed to fight to get better and not just give up. Her story, kindness, and words all helped me to heal. This virus stinks, all I wanted is to give her a hug. She is an awesomely strong woman that happens to be a nurse that cares, more than most. Northwestern is lucky to have her.
