I was admitted to the hospital on my wedding night with appendicitis. The staff was kind enough to grant an exception to have my husband stay the night in the room with me. When we walked into the room, someone had written "Congratulations" in huge letters on my board, and there were two towel swans kissing on the bed.

We learned that Carla and another nurse had watched a YouTube video and learned how to make them for us. My husband also had a reclining chair already set up with blankets for him. Carla was so kind, helpful, and personable, and that first night went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Getting set up in the room of course a few beeps went off here and there, and she always came in immediately to help. When doing my intake form and in every conversation after I could tell how kind and empathetic she was.

One night we had to be moved because of a very loud neighbor, and we were moving from a single room to a double, and she made sure no one else was put in the room with me. Carla was truly a shining star and such a light of positivity in one of the most difficult and painful times of my life. She made the right calls with my pain medication so many times, and I'm so grateful that I was placed in her care. We're so glad we chose this hospital over others in the area because every single staff member was incredible, and Carla really stood out!
