On Feb 16, 2009, I was a patient on L&D and all the nurses were great, but the most outstanding one was Carla Smith. On that day, my regular RN was very busy attending to an emergency c-section of twins so she was tied up and Carla took over for her, even though she was in charge that night. She stood at the bedside throughout my whole labor from the time I hit the floor to the time my baby was born. She held my hand and comforted me through my contractions and my epidural placement. Hugged me throughout everything. This was the most wonderful thing anyone could do. She fanned me during each contraction. That is why to me she is an extraordinary nurse. Many Thanks!!
