My grandpa was admitted to the hospital with the possibility of losing a leg. He went straight into surgery from the emergency department, and we were left in the dark. After a long time, we were taken to a room on the fifth floor to wait. As we dropped off belongings, Carley came in to see us. We were all anxious and in tears about my grandpa because if he lost his leg, it would destroy him. But Carley came in to address us in a way that made us feel like she was taking care of her own family members. Even then my grandpa, the patient, was not back. We couldn't hold together, so Carley offered to take us for a walk in the halls.

She listened to our fears, concerns, and provided comfort. At one point my mom just kept crying and Carley hugged her and offered to get our family anything while we waited because we did not want to leave until he was back. She brought coffee, water, and small snacks for us before going home for the day. She was never bothered by us and provided so much care that you would think we were the only people she was taking care of. Her words and time dedicated to us gave us comfort. She told us to have faith and regardless of the outcome he will recover. Days later she even came back to check on us again. Carley went above and beyond to take care of all of us during this critical and scary time in our lives. My family is thankful to have her in our story.
