My 84-year-old aunt, Miss B, had heart surgery with Dr.K at the Augusta University Hospital. There were a few setbacks that had her admitted for recovery in the cardiac ICU unit for observation. She was in the hospital for 4 days. During that time, many helpful and accommodating doctors and nurses cared for my aunt. However, there was one that stood out above the rest, and that was Carley Stapleton. Ms Carley Stapleton was very confident and knowledgeable about the care she provided my aunt. I found out she had only been doing this work for six months. She did an excellent job with the IV medicines and caring for all my aunt's needs. What made Carley stand out to me was the time she took to converse with my aunt and the laughter she shared with my aunt. This kind of care comes from the heart. The doctors were trying to get my aunt off of the blood pressure medicine but were unable to because her pressure stayed so low. Carley's love and laughter helped raise my aunt's spirits and blood pressure that they were finally able to get her off all IV meds. I attribute that to Ms. Carley Stapleton. They say laughter is the best medicine; that's what Carley gave to my aunt. God has blessed Carley with a wonderful personality that aided in my aunt's recovery. If anyone deserves this recognition, it's Ms Carley Stapleton.
