I was admitted to Carli's unit for observation and further testing after my Emergency Department visit. Up until this visit, I was active and healthy. As one can imagine, it was a scary and confusing time for me and my family. COVID-19 added another layer to this stressful situation.
Ms. Carli treated me like a family member. Upon entering my room, she greeted me in a caring, upbeat manner. As she settled me into my bed, she engaged in "small talk" to ease my mind a bit, making a personal connection. She quickly started the monitoring devices and answered my questions. She was attentive even when I didn't use the nurse notification system. She truly was "just checking in" to make sure I was okay, both body and spirit. When she administered medication, she told me what it was and why it was prescribed. Again, answering my questions with a positive attitude.
When her shift ended, she came by to tell me good-bye and that she would see me in the morning. When Ms. Carli arrived the next morning, she came in to greet me with the same infectious, positive attitude. I had several tests scheduled and with each one, she took her time explaining the medications, forms, and procedures - her knowledge was so helpful. My husband wasn't allowed to visit prior to the testing, so having a caring person "with me" meant so much.
Since then, I am still trying to navigate my way through the healthcare system. And it is very clear to me, with all the healthcare professionals I've seen, Ms. Carli is a standout! She made me feel important, showed compassion, and true concern.
Riverside Regional Hospital, your facility is lucky to have Ms. Carli Lemelin.

Thank you, Carli, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
