Mr. Bryant is a surgical nurse in the Operating Room. While Mr. Bryant routinely delivers top-of-the-line surgical nursing care, it is what he does in the background that goes above and beyond for patient care. During a time of decreased staffing, Mr. Bryant took it upon himself to learn the complex processes of acting as the Operating Room Charge Nurse. Mr. Bryant has stepped up to the challenge of acting as the Operating Room Charge nurse numerous times. During extreme staffing shortages, Mr. Bryant has run the OR board, given all of the nursing breaks and lunches, and assisted with other administrative tasks. Mr. Bryant is resourceful, learning as much about the complexities of running the operating room as possible, so that he can assist with ensuring that patient care is delivered timely and in a smooth manner. He is a subject matter expert and a team player who is often sought out by his peers and his team. Mr. Bryant is deserving of this DAISY Nomination, not only for the direct patient care that he personally gives but also for ensuring that the patient care in the Operating Room is delivered timely and efficiently.
