Carlos even inspired our population health project based on the needs he saw in Spanish-speaking patients in the low country. He is both passionate and excited to help others in need.
Carlos has been the most supportive classmate, friend, and nurse to his patients. I was in his clinical rotation for pediatrics and women's health. He was excellent at making his pediatric patients forget about their situations and just enjoy coloring or playing a game. He took his time getting to know each patient’s condition and made sure to always ask lots of questions. He also cares greatly for his peers and serves as a role model. He has always offered help in any subjective area, can do it through positive communication, and does not make you feel like less of a person. I am honored to be able to meet him through this program and call him a friend. He's the best!

There is no one who cares about patient care more than Carlos. Before and during nursing school, this man has worked and volunteered with emergency services, helping others at their lowest times to get the care they need. He regularly volunteers with the Dream Center Clinic, even working as a translator to help Spanish-speaking patients receive regular medical care. Carlos even inspired our population health project based on the needs he saw in Spanish-speaking patients in the low country. He is both passionate and excited to help others in need. He has even traveled to aid the people of the Dominican Republic with medical care, and I have no doubts he will go to many more places and do many more beautiful things to help others. Medical care notwithstanding, he is kind, generous, and supportive of his fellow students and is well-loved by faculty in the college and the hospital, as well as his peers in his cohort. He is the measure of a compassionate nursing student.

I do not have many interactions with Carlos. Regardless, all of the conversations I have had with him are extremely pleasant and uplifting. He is one of those people who can read a room and understand and empathize with any discomfort, and he will try his hardest to help. He is an exemplary student and is going to make all of his patients feel safe and incredibly well cared for.
***
He's an incredible support throughout nursing school. He's always so optimistic and lovely. He's just an amazing person.
