My husband was placed under hospice care this summer. The excellent Valley Hospice program clicked into action with amazing speed, and we, the family, were very grateful for all the professional help and advice offered to us. However, it was such a stressful time, I found it difficult to absorb and understand all the information I was given. But it was important that I understand it, in order to properly care for my husband. Then along came Primary RN, Carly Gold. What a credit that young woman is to the nursing profession, a profession which is long overdue to receive the appreciation it deserves. However, more than being an excellent nurse, with all the skills that excellent nurses display, Carly is a superb representative of the Valley Hospice Program. She comes into my house anticipating all the questions that I might have. If I should forget (and I often do) what I need to know, Carly "prompts" me with a question. She listens, thoughtfully, to everything I say. If she senses that I am confused about something, she clarifies for me, and tells me what I need to do. Often, Carly has been in my home while there is a home health aide present. Carly and I invite the home health aide to share in our conversation. And therefore, Carly gets the full picture of my husband's needs and care. Also, Carly brings into our discussion things that I should be thinking about. For example, my husband and I many years ago decided that we wanted to be cremated, with no funeral parlor services. But when my husband first went into hospice care, it seemed to me it was heartless to be thinking about what I should do if he died. But Carly, very kindly, brought up that subject and gave me very good advice. Her main positive attribute is that she is highly intelligent. High intelligence is a rare quality in anyone. It means that the highly intelligent person can make excellent decisions in any situation. I am very happy to have RN Carly Gold helping me through this terrible time. I recommend Carly Gold without reservation.
