Carly has consistently been a leading nurse and voice of hope and positivity for her coworkers. She goes above and beyond, but she was especially great when caring for her patient, I. This patient was confused and had some baseline memory issues, but Carly never treated her any differently. Her family was attending a funeral this day, so she was unable to stay at the bedside. Additionally, on this day, I was very confused, trying to get out of bed, had pulled out her only IV, and had no family at bedside. Carly took the initiative, placed the patient in a recliner, and brought her to the nurses' station for closer observation. She combed her hair, gave her coloring pages and towels to fold, and gave her designated time and attention while also keeping an eye on the other patients. This is just one example of Carly being a leader and nurse that everyone is lucky to have.
