I really wanted to express my appreciation and say thank you to Carly. I was admitted to the ortho unit for spinal surgery. I had a good deal of anxiety and nervousness preoperatively and probably wasn't the most ideal patient and for that, I apologize!
Carly is a true professional in every aspect of the word. She has exceptional listening and communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. She possesses an empathetic disposition and truly understood my fears and anxiety and had a calming effect on me. I felt she truly understood my worries and concerns and advocated for me by anticipating my needs and then communicating those needs to the other nurses to assure that they were then carried out. She pays attention to detail and understands the role of pain management and the importance it plays on overall healing. This was one of my fears going into surgery because I had agonizing pain preoperatively.
Because she understood this and stayed on top of it, I was up and on my feet ambulating just 2 hours postoperatively! Carly is most definitely an asset to the nursing staff and the profession. Words cannot convey my appreciation. Thank you, Carly!
